going to buy a blackberry.. help?
i’m giong to purchase a blackberry pearl from a friend tomorrow that’s not on a contract and is through rogers.. i was going to just put my sim card in it and use it with my pay as you go account. i’m wondering if anyone knows if there’s hidden fee’s or any other fee’s that i will get charged for that i wouldn’t normally be charged for with my rogers phone. if i try to connect to my home wireless internet for the wifi will i still get charged for using the internet? also is there any problems i should look out for when using a blackberry like things that could make the camera stop working, or the keys being crap and falling off.. how to not break the trackball ect. is this a good phone? or do you think i should just stick with my LG xenon? the blackberry is cute but i’m afraid of being charged too much even if it’s with pay as you go. what do you think?

Your carrier does not care what phone you have hooked up …
If you hook up to your wifi, there is not usage charges
The trackball is the part that usually goes bad (I have the new one with the pad, not the ball(,
make sure that you turn off your mobile internet, because if your wifi goes out of range, it will default back to mobile and you will be charged for that
unless you use all of the data features, it is a waste to buy the blackberry.
I have all of my e-mail (multiple accounts) and all of my landline telephones (office and home). Iforwarded to my blackberry. Even my home and office voice mail is transposed to text and sent to me (not a blackberry feature.
If all you plan to do is text and make calls, you old phone is plenty. If you plan to use the internet (which is wierd with the small screen), send files, pictures, listen to the radio, .. basically live with the phone always with you, then you need something like this.
