Buy Lenovo/IBM x61 Tablet on ebay?
I am trying to buy a Lenovo/IBM x61 tablet on ebay, since I am not sure if it is safe to do so, I just want some suggestions.
1, Is there any possiblity that the “brand new” is actually refurbished?
2, I have heard that some feedbacks and comments are fake.
3, How to make sure the warranty is valid before buying?

PS: Normally, the final bidding price of a brand new x61 tablet (2G, 120G, Windows Vista Home Premium, Intel Core 2 Du, 1.6 GHz, 8 Cell Li-Ion Battery / Integrated Bluetooth® and Wireless WiFi) on ebay ranges from $760 to $830, which means I can save huge.
Buying laptops and TabletPC’s on Ebay can be risky as there are a LOT of scams out there.
If the seller has good feedback AND has been on Ebay for a long time you should be safe. Just make sure that selling of computers is their business so you can get some reliability in this area.
If you want warranty you may also wish to go directly to the manufacturer and buy a refurbished unit. Most of them list what’s available on their websites.
A less risky source of 2nd hand TabletPC’s would be in the Buy & Sell sections of these 2 TabletPC online forums:

You can check out the seller by seeing how he/she handles themselves on the forums. If they’re a long-time poster then you should be pretty safe dealing with them. Warranty may or may not be available/transferable, but that can be discussed with the seller.
