Media Bay Battery switching to Primary Battery?
I just got a Dell Latitude D630 laptop with the secondary “media bay” battery. When discharging (running on batteries) the secondary ‘media bay’ battery will discharge first until it gets down to about 9%. Then the laptop switches to using the Primary battery discharging that while the media bay battery’s status is idle.
My question is if there is a way to get the laptop to discharge more than down to 9% on the media bay battery. I’d like the laptop to use as much of the power from the media bay battery as possible (down to say 1-2% left) before switching to the primary battery so I get the most out of my battery life.
I checked the bios and power settings in XP home, but have found no options regarding setting levels at which it switches from one battery to another.
It probably does not go down further because the power wouldn’t be sufficient to keep the laptop running. 9% might be considered a deep discharge like some devices might shut off sooner than that.
