Strong laptop for deploying … . … ……..?
I wonna take a laptop with me when I deploy to Iraq, but I dont know if any r strong enuf. It will need to live through sand, dropping, skwooshed in my Military gear on a C130 to be shipped to my destonation, water, possible shootings, dropped hard and mayb from a fast moving vehicle.
I heard about the Toughbook and somthin called “Rugged”. The only real spec Im lookin for is wireless interweb.
Right now, you need a laptop to get you through a year-long deployment. That’s all you need and nothing else. Get a cheap one; you’ll probably want to buy a new one when you get back, anyway. That’s what i did. My $500 Gateway went as far as I needed it to, with few problems, considering the air was so dusty I had to chew when I breathed.
